Identifying the Topic of a Conversation

A listening question may ask you to identify the topic of a conversation or short talk. Some common words such as topic, purpose, about, talk about, and discuss let us know that the answer should be related to the topic. When you listen, pay attention to the main idea of the given information.

Example

A: Mandy, I would like to have a meeting about the new project.

B: Well, can we discuss it over lunch tomorrow?
